Nadi Airport Terminal
Nadi Airport is the main International gateway to Fiji and links to about thirteen domestic airports around the Fiji Islands, as well as the country's second International Airport at Nausori, Suva. Tourism is one of Fiji's main economies, and the Nadi Airport terminal processes around 1.3 million passengers a year, who arrive from all parts of the world to enjoy a holiday in these famous tropical islands and experience the unique culture and friendliness of the people of Fiji. While the predominant number of arrivals into the Nadi Airport terminal are visitors on holiday, others include business travellers, or expatriate Fiji citizens returning to visit friends and relatives.
The panorama photo shows two of Air Pacific's fleet of aircraft docked at the Nadi Airport Terminal. Air Pacific operate a fleet of Boeing 747, 767 and 737 aircraft, and at the end of April 2006 announced that they had purchased five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with purchase rights for a further three. The aircraft are commonly known as ' Islands in the Sky ' .. each aircraft being named after one of the many islands in Fiji.
In the background can be seen the famous ' Sleeping Giant ' highlands, which overlook the Nadi Airport Terminal and make a dramatic impression on visitors to Nadi.
