Suva Photo and Image Gallery
Suva, the capital city of Fiji Islands, is a growing vibrant business centre. With a healthy economy and a boom in overseas investment in Fiji, there are a number of new building developments planned or in progress. The skyline reflects modern architecture intermingled with the older Colonial style architecture of time gone by.
In addition to new developments, a number of older, existing buildings have undergone upgrades also, such as the Tanoa Plaza pictured in the panorama above. The Tanoa Plaza offers modern rooms - standard and deluxe - with Internet connections that make it suitable for the business traveller as well as for those on vacation who want to keep in touch with family and friends back home. There is a ground floor swimming pool, conference centre and bar/restaurant, plus a coffee shop serving Italian style coffees. The hotel is a short walk downhill to Victoria Parade, the main road that runs through the centre of Suva City, where a variety of other restaurants and cafes are available.
Fiji has a number of architectural practices, about 15 of these are currently registered with the Fiji Association of Architects.
